Salsa Dance Night Recap. I went to Clarendon Grill tonight with one mission- to get a Salsa Dance with Bachata World Champion Sergio from Spain! I missed my opportunity to get a dance with him at the Ferocity Fierce Fridays Bachata Social because I was too intimidated to dance Bachata with him because he’s a World Champion and I just wasn’t confidant enough to bust out my weak Bachata game on him. And unfortunately, I could never grab him during the Salsa Interludes. So even though he is going to be at the DC Bachata Congress, I knew the odds were better to get a dance with him at a local spot like Clarendon Grill than at the heavily trafficked DC Bachata Congress.
I patiently stalked him from the sidelines and nabbed him 2 songs after his performance- Yes, I was that pressed, lol. Such a fun, stimulating dance- Dude has cool Twisty Arm TurnPatterns with complex hand tosses, stylish flavor, great footwork, nice connection with good vibe. Mission Accomplished. Now I will rest up the rest of the week until Thursday for the beginning of the DC Bachata Congress.
