UH-MAZING NIGHT at Mr. Mambo’s SAT DEC 13, 2014 filled with Dancers Everywhere, Packed Workshops, Music to LIVE For, and TWO Busy Dance Floors! Thank you SO MUCH to the Out of Towners, The Salsa Mambo Regulars, The MUCHO Bachateros, The MANY New Faces, and Especially All of the YOUNG PEOPLE who combined to make the night Soooo FUNFASTIC!

Workshops were FAST and FURIOUS with Students Eager to Train with the Best in DC! Father of Bachata in DC, Lee Gringuito and his partner Kat La Gata taught a Special Bachata Class that had all of the Bells and Whistles! Footwork warmup first to introduce Dominican Style Bachata Steps to their repetoire and then the partnerclass filled with turns, Bodyrolls, and traveling steps!
David Cuevas of the Clavika Dance Company taught an Engaging Salsa ON1 Workshop with his beautiful partner Yessenia Noriega! They taught clearly and broke down all of their moves so that everyone could get a good understanding AND they rotating the students to dance with everyone several times to give personal feedback! STANDING OVATION to David Cuevas’s Debut as an Instructor at Mr. Mambo’s!
As always, Psyon Scott taught a challenging Salsa ON2 Workshop! The warm up was the footwork drill designed to help the students step in a syncopated fashion and execute weight shifts smoothly. The partnerwork portion was signature Psyon with deceptively easy hand switches and crossbody leads with contra indicated turns and checks- JUICY STUFF! Of course, the students ATE IT UP!
The Music was a DREAM and had the dancers FLOATING ON A CLOUD from all of the Heavenly Jams! DJ Neo and DJ Steve Martin hit the Salsa/Mambo Dancers hard with the hottest Guaguancos, Salsa Classica, Romanticas and Cha Cha Chas and the Dancers stalked the dancefloor EVERY SONG! DJ Lee Gringuito kept the Bachata Ballroom PACKED OUT and filled with HAPPY FACES!

At Midnight, Lee Gringuito moderated a Fun Salsa y Bachata Jack N Jill Contest! Their was a tie between the two final couples and Lee rewarded BOTH couples with Tickets to DC’s Ultimate New Years Party with 8 Ballrooms at The Double Tree in Crystal City Dec 31, 2014!
