OFFICIAL RECAP of DC’S Mr. Mambo’s 1st Salsa & Bachata Social in VA

Not Bad for our 1st time in VIRGINIA Saturday, May 23, 2015 at our alternate Venue- over 150 people!   Muchos  Abrazos and Many Thanks to EVERYONE who came out to either SUPPORT Mr. Mambo’s in Virginia, CHECK OUT our Alternate Venue, or just came out to DANCE with us!

Overall Feedback was that people REALLY LIKED THE VENUE!   We were missing some regulars due to the Holiday weekend and possibly because of the distance of our alternate venue but we reconnected with HECK OF ALOT of Virginia folks who normally find Mr. Mambo’s in Silver Spring too far to travel to on the regular so it was ALL GOOD!

Workshops started off light in attendance but students slowly begin to filter into the classes by the second hour.  Since we were in Virginia, we had a fresh crop of students who were being exposed to Mr. Mambo’s workshops  for the very 1st time.  Juan Aristy taught Traditional Bachata Footwork along with a comfortable turnpattern to lead/follow that night.   Irene Holtzman taught an Advanced Beginner Level Salsa ON1 footwork and Turn Pattern.  Psyon Gianni Scott taught Intermediate Level Salsa ON2 Footwork and Turnpattern.  Happy to say that all of the classes were well received by the students!

Resident DJ Vino & DJ Jovanny, who was playing at Mr. Mambo’s for the 1st time,  kept the Salsa Ballroom hopping with Groovy Flava and New Sounds to the delight of many!

DJ Yulio kept the Bachata Room Steamed up and Wet with the Sexiest Bachata & Kizomba Tunes!

Much love to Janet Valdivia whose 3rd Birthday Dance at Mr. Mambo’s was the occasion for 2 car loads of BOMB DIGGITY Hardcore NYC Salseros  in the House- SWEET!  Although she already had 2 Epic Bday dances at her own Birthday Salsa Congress held at her mansion the night before, we had to give her ONE MORE BDAY DANCE at Mr. Mambo’s, as  has been tradition for the past 4 years.

Definitely a good night and a good start at our alternate venue in Virginia!   Special Thanks to Abraham Sannoh and the Beautiful Spacious Crown Dance for Hosting our Event!
